The conference will discuss a number of key issues including: dilemmas and achievements of the Egyptian and Tunisian revolutions, the future and contradictions of the current wave of Arab revolutions, the relation between the Arab revolution and imperialism and Zionism, Arab revolutions in the general framework of democratic struggles historically and internationally, Arab revolution and the struggle against neo-liberalism and capitalist globalization.

Why should you support our delegation

Caroline Lucas MP
This is a vital moment in the development of the Arab Spring. Our solidarity with those fighting for freedom is more important than ever. This the first international solidarity conference that has taken place and it is happening in the heart of the Arab revolution. I urge all who can be there to attend this important conference.

Jeremy Corbyn MP
Uprisings across the whole region show a thirst for accountable Government and real independence. The West think they can co-opt the process and at the same time protect the oligarchies in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and continue to allow Israel to continue its illegal occupation of the West Bank. The Cairo Conference gives a huge opportunity for the voices of unity and determination to achieve liberation.

In response to the call of the Palestinian people for a popular uprising on May 15th, we will gather in George Square on the same day, to demand that the Israeli ambassador is expelled from the UK, in light of Israel's continued disregard for international law.

Supported by Glasgow University Palestine Society, Scottish Friends of Palestine, Scottish Palestine Forum and Glasgow Stop the War Coalition, Glasgow Human Rights Campaign.

Please invite all your friends to this event. Stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and send the message that our government does not represent us and that we fully support them in their struggle for freedom.
